Interesting - updating to this version from 1.7.0 in my own plugin now
yields an NPE when creating a RepositorySystem - guess I know one thing I’m
working on this week :)

The most reliable way is to clone a Maven tag, change the resolver
version in the parent POM and rebuild Maven. Manual replacement of JARs
is errorprone and I don't recommend doing that.

Im just a user - I don't build maven or any plugins/extensions. How can I
