However, I still have a problem and that is, where do I define the
CVS host, username, etc.?
In my project.xml file I have repository connection settings to
connect to NT CVS:
<repository>
<connection>scm|cvs|pserver|ribia@scswebdev01|/d//cvs|RBookings</connection>
</repository>
Now I suppose I would use "scm:checkout-project" to perform the
checkout but that complains about CVSROOT var not being set.
What do I set the CVSROOT var to when the cvs root is on another
server?
Any help pls...

http://maven.apache.org/reference/plugins/scm/
It's used for Sourcecontrol access.
