Fwd: board: r19010 - /foundation/board/board_agenda_2009_08_19.txt
I just noticed this addition to the board report for Forrest and have
not noticed a copy of it going to our developer list.
I totally agree with this addition and thank David for adding it. My
purpose for forwarding here is to highlight this issue to the widest
possible community.
In short we would welcome someone building a release for Forrest -
anyone can do it and as David says it is well documented (and I'm sure
people will come out of the woodwork to help in the odd spare minute).

The minutes for the August 2009 meeting are now published.

Yes only available to ASF members. In the "foundation" svn.
That "board" in committers svn is a directory for stuff that is for
all committers. e.g. the list of who is on every PMC, and the
list of upcoming meeting etc.
Yes minutes from past meetings are approved each month and
eventually work their way to the calendar page:
http://www.apache.org/foundation/board/calendar.html
We report in February, May, August, November.

I think that the comments are extracted when the agenda
is finally turned into minutes. The comments are from a
pre-meeting review phase. This gets most business done
before the monthly meeting happens on Wednesday morning.
This is the first time that the Forrest report has ever
really been commented.

It looks like the minutes are available, but the comments aren't,
right? Unless, of course, I'm missing them somewhere...

Is that repository only for Members? I see "board" in committers but
it doesn't have the reports in them. Are they public once final?
Thanks,

I just want to be sure that all developers are aware
that we are not being pressured to release. One board
member asked whether there was a reason for not releasing,
probably to see if they can help clear a hurdle.
Such pre-meeting comments are often terse.
Ross understands this, and i am sure many others,
but perhaps not everyone.
Of course it sure would be good to do a release.
So if anyone can help then please do.

Yes, you are right, I should have repurposed your text. However, there
is nothing private in what I posted so no harm done.

They are unpublished agenda items, so the dev list is not
usually copied.
We don't often get queried on the board report.
I was going to follow up with Forrest PMC when any Board
discussion settled.
