[users@httpd] Password protect all but one directory
I want to password protect my entire site, except for one URL (which is needed
for a load balancer health check). I've done this:
<Location />
AuthType Digest
AuthName "password protected"
AuthUserFile /srv/passwd.digest
Require valid-user
</Location>
<Location /ping>
Satisfy any
Allow from all
</Location>
It doesn't work. Requests for /ping are still requiring password authentication.
Is there a way to make this work?

<LocationMatch ^(?!/ping)
AuthType Digest
AuthName "password protected"
AuthUserFile /srv/passwd.digest
Require valid-user
