The Jackrabbit 2.8.0 release candidate is now available, and I've updated the Oak 1.0 branch to use it. To build Oak 1.0 locally before the release vote completes, you need to first "mvn install" the 2.8.0 RC or have it deployed to a private Maven repository you're using (I've done this within Adobe).

Oak trunk still uses Jackrabbit 2.8-SNAPSHOT to avoid breaking our CI builds. I'll update trunk to use the official release once the vote completes, but we can resolve this issue already now for the 1.0 release.
