Mac Software: OS X 10.9.5

Successfully reproduced with the following procedure:

1)Highlighted text from separate program (Google Chrome)
2)Command + Control + Shift + 4 + click and drag cursor to capture screenshot
3)Open Writer
4)Command + V within Writer
5)Text from Google Chrome was pasted to document



The problem was NOT reproduced with the following procedure:

1)Copied a .jpg file from Finder
2)Command + Control + Shift + 4 + click and drag cursor to capture screenshot
3)Open Writer
4)Command + V within Writer
5)The correct screenshot from step 2 is pasted into the document
