This is the expected behavior in Superset right now: when you change the parent filter, the child filter does not automatically reset or clear its value, even if the selection is no longer valid. The cascading filter logic only updates the available options, but it doesn't enforce or trigger a reset of the child filter's value when the parent changes. Users need to manually clear or change the child filter if its value becomes invalid for the new parent selection. There isn't a built-in setting or workaround to make this automatic—implementing it would require custom development or an upstream feature addition.
