configuration stored in a component?

Hi all,
I have a configuration that must be shared by some 
of my components (transformers & generators)

I was thinking in developing a component that will
hold the configuration and then retrieve the configuration
like:

myconfig  = (ConfigHolder) manager.lookup(ConfigHolder.ROLE);

Witch concept is better applied in cocoon to ConfigHolder
in terms of components?!
ConfigHolder holds a really complex configuration.

Any ideas? Thanks to all ...
