email notifications

I appreciate the added email notification services
that have been added relatively recenlty to OFBiz. Is
it possible for these new notifications to not run by
default? I just flooded my customer base with
backorder notifications :)

The order notifications have been sending correctly,
just the back order had been failing, i guess, until I
updated to 7902 (previous was 6900 or so)

I don't want them all off...just the new ones.
Although after looking through the code it doesn't
appear to be new, so I'm wondering what was making it
fail before.
