Tomcat Authentication IIS 403 error

Please can someone help me, i have read though the achieves and have found simaliar question but no answers.

i am running tomcat 4.0.3 with IIS 5 i have configured a jsp page with tomcat basic authentication.

when i acces the page tomcat does not ask for username and password it passes through to a 403 error page.

i have read that this was not the case with tomcat 3. i have downloaded the code for the redirector.dll from the cvs repository but am unable to compile either with ANT or  MS visual studio as there seems to be files missing.

do i need different JAR files or the DLL
