If timeline view won't be retained, then those links need to be directed
somewhere else.
I see ... maybe we should keep the timeline after all . If so , when
rendering the events it'd be convenient to reuse `widget_timeline.html`
and improve it (e.g. add icons highlighting event types)

maybe a `wontfix` ? maybe updates to this ticket ?
PS: Fact is that the timeline and roadmap views have been phased out in
favor of dashboard views . Something like that may be found in the ML
archives

Comment (by rjollos):
At the moment, it seems that adding a Bootstrap template for timeline is
the quickest route at to fixing up the issue of where the various
//event// links direct to. I'll look at utilizing your timeline widget in
the implementation. Thanks for the hint.

Refs #461: Copied `timeline.html` as a starting point towards

Why not to reuse `widget_timeline.html` in dashboard plugin ? Since the
beginning that was a design goal i.e. to reuse the widget templates for
views . That's what they encourage , different levels of reusability and
consistent look and feel across the site . We've done such things before
too , afaicr for query and report web views .
So in a few words , I'd suggest you to spend your time wisely by reusing
and/or improve `widget_timeline.html` in dashboard plugin ... instead of
maintaining two copies .
I leave it to you to decide .
