[PR] build(deps)!: bump substrait-go to v9.0.0-alpha.2 [iceberg-go]
kadinrabo opened a new pull request, #2259:
URL: https://github.com/apache/iceberg-go/pull/2259
Bumps substrait-go from v8.1.1 to v9.0.0-alpha.2. I'm visiting from @substrait-io; v9 finishes moving protobuf out of substrait-go core, so `substrait-protobuf/go` eventually drops out of the dependency graph here too.
This does not build yet. `arrow/compute/exprs` exposes substrait-go types in its exported API, so iceberg-go cannot move to v9 until a released arrow-go carries it. See apache/arrow-go#1399. Verified locally with a `replace` pointing at that branch: `go build ./...` is clean and `go test ./table/...` passes, including `table/substrait`.
Marked breaking because `ConvertExpr` and `ConvertSchema` return substrait-go types, so the v8 to v9 import path change alters the exported API.
Draft until arrow-go releases with v9 and substrait-go cuts a stable v9.
