As Jarek mentioned https://github.com/apache/airflow-site has some stuff we
may like to reuse (CI, code quality checks, contributing tips).

I think a good start might be the https://airflow.apache.org site. We
already have Hugo - based website with all the automation of building using
GitHub Actions. So you basically need just an Apache -owbd GitHub Repo,
copy the .gitHub/workflow and it should self-publish after every merge.

However for community.a.o (and this will be needed for local.a.o as well)
there is an exception because the subdomain (community) doesn’t match the
PMC name (comdev) which is something the .asf.yaml not supports.
The config for community.a.o is here:
https://github.com/apache/infrastructure-puppet/blob/9c1365140c409689f66fc480046bd7652d554e9e/modules/gitwcsub/files/config/gitwcsub.cfg#L59

As per https://cwiki.apache.org/confluence/display/INFRA/git+-+.asf.yaml+features#git.asf.yamlfeatures-Staticwebsitecontentgeneration
this is now self-service, by adding a .asf.yaml file to the website
repository. I haven't used that variant myself yet.

Bertrand,
How/where is pub-sub configured for the deploy branch `asf-site`? Is it
just an infra request, or is there a self service option?

Thank you Bertrand for your inputs, we are inline :)
Also, we have some ALC chapter members who are interested in helping
and were also involved in the https://airflow.apache.org/ site (build
with Hugo too)
So, we will also take some inspiration from here as well.

Note that the comdev PMC already manages two websites created with Hugo:
https://github.com/apache/comdev-site
https://github.com/apache/comdev-events-site
I suggest using those as a starting point, if you initially keep the
same layout that would reduce the amount of work needed and keep a

Hi Andrew,
Thanks for your interest.
We will be working on building the ALC site, currently, all the
content is documented at https://s.apache.org/alc
So, starting from site designing to coding with the Hugo framework
will be involved in the effort of building the site.
