merge fails with "Could not get content-type from response"
Hello,
I am having a problem with merge failing. The merge chunks along for a
while, then quits with the message:
svn: Could not get content-type from response
This is exactly issue 2761:
http://subversion.tigris.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=2761
which was closed due to lack of reproduction steps and output. So let me
try to address that. The command issued was:
svn merge URL1@N URL2@M .
The output looks as expected; just a list of files that are being
updated, added, deleted, etc. Then the client just quits with the error
message above. I know that is not much, but when you get a one-line
error there is not much to offer!
One thing that might be a factor is this merge will result in a large
patch set. Could this be a timeout problem with Apache?
Client: 1.4.5 (Win32 under Cygwin)
Server: 1.2.3 (Linux)
Access: ra_dav
Thanks,
Mark

Hi Karl,
Discussion is moved to the dev list ... I will pick it up there.
Thanks,
Mark

I unfortunately don't have time to debug this myself right now, but
you could help us a lot with issue #2761 by putting together a true
reproduction recipe. Just dump your repository ('svnadmin dump'), and
zip up your working copy as it is before the merge, and attach them to
the issue, along with a note saying what steps to take to reproduce --
by which I mean the *exact* commands :-).
I realize that all might take half an hour or so, but we're pretty
dependent on clean reproduction recipes from users. You can greatly
increase the chances of that issue getting fixed by taking that time.
