[jira] Created: (HADOOP-3066) Should not require superuser
privilege to query if hdfs is in safe mode
Should not require superuser privilege to query if hdfs is in safe mode
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Key: HADOOP-3066
URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/HADOOP-3066
Project: Hadoop Core
Issue Type: Bug
Components: dfs
Affects Versions: 0.17.0
Reporter: Jim Kellerman
Assignee: Jim Kellerman
Currently, Superuser privilege is required to query hdfs to determine if it is in safe mode.
While entering or leaving safe mode should require Superuser privilege, merely asking if it is in safe mode should not.
