   @R-Bower I like what you've done here.  The snap-to-grid behavior is subtle, so making it the default behavior sounds good to me. Offering a modifier key to deactivate the behavior (like the Hold + Shift suggested by @moranr) is a good idea if for some reason the user needs more precision in placing their component.
