   We should discuss switching compiler target to 17 on the dev/user list, imho.
   
   Several OpenJDK vendors have longer support dates than announced by Oracle:
   
   - https://adoptium.net/de/support/ (10.2024)
   - https://www.azul.com/products/azul-support-roadmap/ (09.2026)
