[jira] [Commented] (OFBIZ-3895) Cannot be redirected to PayPal

    [ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/OFBIZ-3895?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=18090217#comment-18090217 ]

Anil K Patel commented on OFBIZ-3895:
-------------------------------------

Both issues reported here — error 10001 on stale token reuse and the cart modification check after PayPal confirmation — remain unaddressed in PayPalServices.java in current trunk. Error 10411 (expired token) is handled with a retry, but error 10001 has no equivalent handling.

However, this integration targets the PayPal NVP/Classic API, which PayPal has officially labeled "legacy." The Orders v1, Payments v1, and Billing Agreements APIs this integration depends on are formally deprecated, and the SDK (com.paypal.sdk.core.nvp.*) is no longer available in any public repository.

Mridul Pathak has started a discussion on the dev mailing list (Subject: "Proposal: Remove deprecated third-party payment gateway integrations", June 19, 2026) proposing to remove this integration entirely, along with several other dead payment gateway integrations. That thread is the right place to track next steps.

Given the upstream API is deprecated with no replacement path within this integration, we propose closing this issue as Won't Fix. New PayPal integrations should target the current PayPal REST APIs.

> It gets an 'internal error 10001' from Paypal in service 'payPalSetExpressCheckout' if you have already run this service be been redirected.
> Comment these three lines out will move away this error.
> if (UtilValidate.isNotEmpty(token)) {
>             encoder.add("TOKEN", token);
>         }
> There is also another issue. The customer can update his/her shopping cart then submits order successfully after he/she confirmed the payment and was redirected back to ecommerce site. That means the customer can place an order of the value which is higher than the total amount he/she confirmed in Paypal. A check shall be added to avoid this issue because that would loose money.
