OODT Website

Alright chaps,

Just wondered what the state of play was with the OODT website and what
we need to do to get it over the line.

Cheers

Hi Lewis, Rishi,

Breaking it down is probably a good idea, so then people can then
pick/be tasked with stuff without duplicating effort, and also those of
us outside of JPL probably have less of an idea than you guys who can
all chat about it.

I'll be on IRC for the next 6 hours-ish if you and or Lewis are about
if, not just prod me on here and we'll bat it back and forth.

Tom

Hi All,

Thanks Tom for bringing this up again. Thanks Chris for providing the resources.

We’re basically paused at this JIRA issue: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/OODT-711

In other words, porting over and placing content on the staging site: http://oodt.staging.apache.org/

For those interested in helping, I think it might make sense to break down OODT-711 into smaller issues that address porting over specific content. Establishing that plan might be a good place for people to start since its been a while. What do you think?

Rishi

You try having 2 kids and being awake (coherently) at 3am! ;)

I'll be around from about 11am PST to around 5pm PST today if you hop on
IRC at some point and prod me.

Thanks Chris,

If one of the guys can give me some pointers about whats missing, I'd
love to push this one through, as I can do webdev slowly with 1 arm
whilst bouncing a baby ;)

Re: OODT Website

Hey Tom,

We tried to start updating it over the summer on DARPA XDATA.
We ended with:

http://oodt.staging.apache.org/

Which I think is a lot better, but the content hasn¹t been moved
over. Lewis, Rishi, Shakeh and others can chime in on where we
left off.

Cheers,
Chris

P.S. My +1 to move to oodt.staging.apache.org style, once we have
a bit more content. And then just drive everything else to the wiki.
Note that didn¹t solve the Maven javadoc/API issues which we¹ll need
to deal with too but we can punt on some of that stuff. Would be nice
for 0.8 or 0.9 release (and definitely before 1.0) to have the new
website up.
