[Issue 128463] New: user name registration traps - libicu problem

https://bz.apache.org/ooo/show_bug.cgi?id=128463

          Issue ID: 128463
        Issue Type: DEFECT
Summary: user name registration traps - libicu problem
           Product: Installation
           Version: 4.1.8
          Hardware: All
                OS: OS/2
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: Normal
          Priority: P5 (lowest)
         Component: code
          Assignee: issues@openoffice.apache.org
          Reporter: rdunkle@smallcatbrain.com
  Target Milestone: ---

Created attachment 87035
  --> https://bz.apache.org/ooo/attachment.cgi?id=87035&action=edit
os2 trap file

Installed AOO 4.18 without problem.
Ran the yum update as described in the readme.txt.
yum install libc libgcc1 libgcc-fwd openssl curl libjpeg libxslt libicu zlib
libxml2 mmap pthread urpo libstdc++6 libstdc++ uclip

Yum install completed successfully.

Upon startup AOO tries to complete the user name registration. The
registration traps at that point.

It appears that libicu-68.1-1.oc00.i686 will cause the trap. Used ANPM to
downgrade to icu-65.1.
AOO is working normally with icu-65.1

--- Comment #4 from Matthias Seidel <ms...@apache.org> ---
Can you please test again with AOO 4.1.11 for OS/2?

The required libicu is now 68 but the rpm installation is now preferred.

Yes, libicu 68 is not compatible with AOO 4.1.8.

As far as I know it isn't even in the official repository, did you install it
from the experimental repo?

This bug can be closed. I tested with ArcaOS 5.0.7 RC4. I used libicu 68.1-1.
AOO is working normally.

--- Comment #3 from Matthias Seidel <ms...@apache.org> ---
So you installed from experimental repo...

AOO 4.1.8 for OS/2 is built against libicu65. Hopefully the next version will
work with a newer libicu.

This is an issue with how the OS/2 version is built, nothing we can do with the
code at the moment.

netlabs-rel has libicu-65.1. I do have both netlabs-rel and netlabs-exp
enabled in ANPM. I used the command line to install the libraries.
