How to package synapse as a war?

Hi,

Since using standalone synapse is not an option in our organization, I would
like to package a distribute a synapse as a war.
I have found some pages mentioning it, but I am not sure is this is still
viable mode to distribute synapse and how it is done.

I am not sure what you have, but when I downloaded it was a war file (synapse.war) so may be there are more than one download places.
