I've completed the coverage a bit with unit tests but we would need a route level test. I didn't find an easy way to embed a ganglia agent though.

I'm considering to build a route test without any ganglia agent, leveraging UDP unreliability, where packets will merely be dropped.

In a second step, it may be possible to plug camel-netty4 and an XDR decoder to perform some loose assertions.

This is my best bet at this stage.
