   We have some failing unit tests from the Java 8 CI jobs with this error message:
   
   ```log
   [error] Test org.apache.daffodil.validation.schematron.TestSpiLoading.load failed: java.lang.UnsupportedClassVersionError: net/sf/saxon/TransformerFactoryImpl has been compiled by a more recent version of the Java Runtime (class file version 55.0), this version of the Java Runtime only recognizes class file versions up to 52.0, took 0.405 sec
   ```
   
   Saxon-HE 12 contains class files targeting Java 11 despite the latest releases [page](https://www.saxonica.com/products/latest.xml) saying SaxonJ 12 is built and tested using Java 11 but should still be usable with Java 8 or later.  I have sent an email to support@saxonica.com to report the issue.  We will close this PR and wait for a newer release to come out.
