tutorial on protocol codec

Hello all,

I created a tutorial on creating a custom ProtocolCodecFilter.
Please have a look at it and let me know what you think:

http://cwiki.apache.org/confluence/display/MINA/Tutorial+on+ProtocolCodecFilter

Thanks,
Maarten

Great work!
This tutorial was really helpful to understand the codec filter in MINA.
Thank you and can't wait to see the next tutorial from you.
:-)

Thanks Ersin, I didn't know about these static pages.
I have also added a link from http://mina.apache.org/documentation.html to
the tutorial.
I didn't do it right away because I wasn't sure people would like the
tutorial, but feedback has been positive until now :-)

Hi,

Nice and long waited tutorial. But let's give the static html page
link to the users:

http://mina.apache.org/tutorial-on-protocolcodecfilter.html

So cwiki server has more chance to live.

Actually we are moving to the modified standard Java coding
convention; mostly same with the standard but different in that we use
spaces only. The move is just happening very slowly.

Thanks !

I don't see any changes needed in the content, but I'd like to point

I started out with rich text editor but quickly switched to wiki markup,
it's definitely easier.

* Use {{...}} expression when referencing a class name (e.g.
> {{ProtocolCodecFilter}}).

Will remember that for the next tutorial :-)

* Use our standard coding style.

I thought I did, but apparently I should have read the coding style
document.
I spent some time putting all those opening curly braces on a new line,
because I thought that's how mina code was written :-)

Maarten

I made a change in the latest revision of the tutorial.

What a great piece of work! Thank you for your contribution! It
explains why protocol codec is needed and how it works very clearly.

I don't see any changes needed in the content, but I'd like to point
out a few cosmetic issues:

* Prefer wiki markup to rich text editor, which generates many s.
* Use {{...}} expression when referencing a class name (e.g.
{{ProtocolCodecFilter}}).
* Use our standard coding style.

I made a change in the latest revision of the tutorial.

Cheers,
