Turbine Cache service question

Hi There,
I have come across this turbine site when i was looking for some caching service implementation for our next java project.
I couldn't get complete information online on this service. Could please somebody let me know what kind of service i can expect if i choose Turbine. I mean is tubine capable of providing object persistence to a database? or just in memory? Is this caching service can be shared across JVMs?
How mature is this application can we dare use this in production environment??

Thanks in advance
-Anand

Posted by vze2dcyq <aa...@verizon.net>.
I'm working on a new version of the caching service that is much like the
jcache jsr proposal. I'm making significant improvements and should have a
stable release in a week or so.
