recompile after kernel upgrade

We just upgraded several servers from the 2.2 Linux kernel (default RedHat 
install) to a custom compiled 2.4.17 kernel. 

A developer suggested that we may get better performance out of Apache if we 
recompile it now that the upgrade has been done. We are using Apache 1.3.22 
on these boxes.
