   Should we temporarily drop support for S3, so that the other connectors, such as Azure filesystem, can be updated?  Then support for S3 can be re-added if there is enough interest to warrant the new implementation?  
   
   Alternatively, are all the filesystem plugins absolutely required to be on the same hadoop version?  S3 could stay on 3.3.4 for a time while the others are updated?
   
   3.4.1 is required for [ABFS OAuth2 Token Provider to support Azure Workload Identity for AKS](https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/HADOOP-18610).
