--- Comment #82 from Redfred Garett <ar...@mail.com> ---
Twice now, I have created .ods password protected spreadsheets. In both cases
after some amount of time, the password stopped working without any change to
it on my part. The first time I wasn't that far along, so I just restarted my
work, but this time, it is a more important file. I know exactly what the
password is, and I never changed it. I had no issue opening the file until a
few days ago and have tried many times to access the file since with the
correct password to make sure I couldn't be making typos or using caps lock.

I tried upgrading my version of Open Office and now have the most current
version, 4.1.2 installed on OSX 10.9.5. It's obviously frustrating knowing what
the password is and still being locked out of the file. It contains critical
data, which is why I password protected it in the first place.

I tried the first solution posted, and when I tried to save a new file with a
password I got the same error mentioned above. I was able to access the file
with LibreOffice, but still can't with OO.

Is there anything I can do to get this file usable with OO again? Should I
remove the password protection?

Thanks !!
