faceted search with Lucene.NET
Is there already a faceted search extension for Lucene.NET?
I know solr has this feature out of the box, but java is no option for us..
Thanks
Marco

More info is always welcome! Maybe we can combine the efforts and make an
extension on top of lucene.net to support faceted searching in these
scenario's:
- without search query (the complete index) (for the first initial search):
. find top X values of one or more fields with the count of each value (desc
sorted)
. find all unique values of one or more fields with the count of each value
(desc sorted)
- with search query (to add another filter to an existing search)
. find top X values of one or more fields within the search result with a
the count of each value (desc sorted)
. find all unique values of one or more fields within the search result with
a the count of each value (desc sorted)
Are there more scenarios?
Thanks

Wow, a long time since I sent that code.
It works relatively well on most cases, it's still running for some of our
queries, but on some edge cases there are another approaches that could get
better results, So if marco don't mind, it can put more info, (number of
documents in the index, usual hit number) and we can discuss what would be
the better way.
Anyway, this code was ported from solr, so you can always watch the solr way
of doing some things, and port just that part to your application (right now
solr has several ways to compute the facets, so you can get the best one for
your case and just port that).

Hi Marco,
Links below may be useful.
Here is an old discussion about faceted search in Lucene.Net (thread
"Faceting in Lucene.Net")
http://mail-archives.apache.org/mod_mbox/incubator-lucene-net-user/200712.mb
ox/browser
and
Here is the code sent by Jokin Cuadrado (since mailing lists strip the
