script to change / verify release versions?
Should we make a script (store in uimaj-distr/src/main/build ) that runs
over the whole UIMAJ projects and sets or verifies the release number?
If we had such a thing, we could incrementally update it as we discover
things that need updating. I think our structures (eclipse plugins,
update sites, etc.) are too particular for the release plugin to handle
automatically.
Opinions?

+1 from me. I agree we should avoid the release plugin.
