VCL Menu translation in French (CA)

Hello,

I am newcomer in this post. I began to test vcl since few weeks.

It is a very good and great project and i want to thank all those who haved worked on it so far.

I am a french speaking and i apologize for the quality of my english.

I am in the phase of finishing the translation of vcl menu in Fench(CA) and i need precisions on some parts of "vcl.po.template" file.

1) let consider this part of "vcl.po.template"

#: requests.php:440
#: requests.php:1801
# msgid "another reservation you currently have.  You are allowed "
msgstr ""

#: requests.php:441
#: requests.php:1802
# msgid "to have "
msgstr ""

#: requests.php:441
#: requests.php:1802
# msgid " overlapping reservations at any given time. "
msgstr ""

Q1) I Think the 1st msgid should be "another reservation you currently have.  You are not allowed ". Isn'it ?

2) let consider this part of "vcl.po.template" (few rows after request.php:445)

#: comment
msgid "The time you requested overlaps with another reservation<br>"
msgstr ""

#: comment
msgid "you currently have. You are only allowed to have a single<br>"
msgstr ""

#: comment
msgid "reservation at any given time. Please select another time<br>"
msgstr ""

#: comment
msgid "for the reservation.<br><br>"
msgstr ""

#: comment
msgid "you currently have. You are allowed to have "
msgstr ""

#: comment
msgid "overlapping<br>"
msgstr ""

#: comment
msgid "reservations at any given time. Please select another time<br>"
msgstr ""

Q2) I think the 4th msgid should not end with a dot and the 5th shoud be "you currently have. You are not allowed to have ". Isn'it ?

3) let consider this part of "vcl.po.template"

#: requests.php:1015
msgid "New Reservations</a><br>to request a new reservation or to "
msgstr ""

#: requests.php:1016
msgid "Current Reservations</a> to select<br>another one that is available."
msgstr ""

Q3) Is it correct to have another "to" in the second msgid ?

4) let consider this part of "vcl.po.template"

#: utils.php:4196
msgid "Reservations</a><br>to request a new reservation or to "
msgstr ""

#: utils.php:4198
msgid "Reservations</a> to select<br>another one that is available."
msgstr ""

Q4) Is it correct to have another "to" in the second msgid ?

5)let consider this part of "vcl.po.template"

#: comment
msgid "block allocation. You might specify more than<br>\n"
msgstr ""

#: comment
msgid "Specify individual dates and times during<br>\n"
msgstr ""

#: comment
msgid "which the block allocation will occur.\n"
msgstr ""

Q5) Is it correct that "Specify" appears in the 2nd msgid?

6)let consider this part of "vcl.po.template"

#: comment
msgid "of the environment you would like to use for the reinstall. The currently installed"
msgstr ""

#: comment
msgid "version what is selected."
msgstr ""

Q6) Is it "that" in the 2nd msgid instead of "what" ?

7)let consider this part of "vcl.po.template"

#: requests.php:1906
msgid "Are you finished with your reservation for <strong>"
msgstr ""

#: requests.php:1907
#: requests.php:1913
msgid "</strong> that started "

Q7) I thinks the question mark is missing at the end of the 2nd msgid

 Charles,

 Thank
you for wanting to and helping with a French translation of
 the VCL web
 code!

The web code was not initially written with
 doing translations in mind.  So,
 as you
have already seen, there are many places where translations
 are done on
 phrases instead of whole
sentences.  I've slowly been working on improving
that.  There will need to be a number of
updates to the translation files for
 the
 upcoming 2.4 release.

I've responded to your questions inline
 below.

What is in the file is
correct.  It ends up displaying something like "You
 are
allowed to make up to 5 overlapping
 reservations at any given time."

What is in the file is
 correct.  Phrases 1, 2, 3, and 4, or phrases 1, 5, 6,
and 7 are used together.  Phrases 5, 6, and 7
 end up being joined together
 similar to
those in Q1 to give something like "You are allowed to
 have up to 5
 overlapping reservations at
 any given time."

 What is in the file
is correct.  It ends up giving something like "The
selected reservation is no longer available.
 Go to New Reservations to
 request a new
reservation or to Current Reservations to select another one

 that is avaiable."  My understanding
is that the "to" before "Current
 Reservations" is actually optional here.
It can share the "to" before "New
Reservations" or it can have its own
 "to".

 This works out the
 same way as Q3.

 There are several
phrases above these in the file that are repeated. So, they

are not in the file more than once.  This
makes it a little confusing to read
 them in
the translation file.  It would be helpful to look at how
 they are
used in the code by looking around
 line 534 in
 web/.ht-inc/blockallocations.php.

 "what" ?

 There is
definitely a problem here.  Actually, the word should be
 completely
 omitted.  The correct phrase
should be "version is selected."  However,
realize that this is incorrect the the code.
 So, the translation file needs
 to keep the
typo (in English) in order to cause the phrase to get
 translated.

After the 2nd phrase, the code prints out a
 localized date/time string
 followed by a
 question mark.
