Hook before creating objects

Hi all. I'm new to iBatis (OJB background).

What I need to do is replace Resources.instantiate()
http://svn.apache.org/repos/asf/ibatis/trunk/java/mapper/mapper2/src/com/ibatis/common/resources/Resources.java
by my own object factory that knows how to create/initalize pojos.

Since this method is static, I don't think this is possible today. I could
happily add this feature to iBatis, but I don't want to maintain a
fork/branch that is not supported by the community. Do you think this is a
general need?

Let me hear you impressions.
Cheers

See the following JIRA issue for details of the solution to this problem:

http://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/IBATIS-50

This new feature will be in the next release of iBATIS (please don't ask
when - we're working hard on it now). However, if you need it now you can
always check out the source fromSVN and build it.

This feature is also documented in the latest iBATIS developer's guide in
SVN.
