I'm a pretty strong -1 to this change. Nothing in the original proposal for adding arbitrary query support mentioned we should drop support for the original semantics. I'd really like to see us close this ticket and remove the TODO here: https://github.com/apache/aurora/blob/master/api/src/main/thrift/org/apache/aurora/gen/api.thrift#L910
