New CVS repository
Dear Apache Cocoon 2 users
We have created an own CVS repository for Apache Cocoon 2.
Please checkout the new xml-cocoon2 repository as described on our
web site at
http://xml.apache.org/cocoon/cocoon2/install.html
Sorry for the inconveniences but we beliefe this will make life easier
for users *and* developers.
There are no nightly builds nor any releases downloadable yet. Some of
you might know we plan to have the first beta release of Apache Cocoon 2
comming soon (within the next weeks).
Stay tuned and have fun :)
Cheers
Giacomo

Here is how I've checked out the repo:
cvs -d :pserver:anoncvs@xml.apache.org:/home/cvspublic login
and it works.
Anybody else encountred this problem?

Okay: here goes. Configured according to docs.
What I didn't tell you is that I'm...on Winodws (2kPro),
with a clean install of the GNU CVS client.
Following the docs, I got this:
CVSROOT: pserver:anoncvs@xml.apache.org:/home/cvspublic (password
authentication)
TCL is *not* available, shell is disabled
cvs login
(Logging in to pserver:anoncvs@xml.apache.org)
no such user pserver:anoncvs in CVSROOT/passwd
cvs login: authorization failed: server xml.apache.org rejected access to
/home/cvspublic for user pserver:anoncvs
*****CVS exited normally with code 1*****
Cheers

Ugh, sorry: mouth-breather I am. Missed that colon prefix.
My first CVS and all....
CVSROOT: pserver:anoncvs@xml.apache.org:/home/cvspublic (password
authentication)
TCL is *not* available, shell is disabled
cvs login
(Logging in to pserver:anoncvs@xml.apache.org)
no such user pserver:anoncvs in CVSROOT/passwd
cvs login: authorization failed: server xml.apache.org rejected access to
/home/cvspublic for user pserver:anoncvs
*****CVS exited normally with code 1*****
NEW CVSROOT: :pserver:anoncvs@xml.apache.org:/home/cvspublic (password
authentication)
cvs login
(Logging in to anoncvs@xml.apache.org)
*****CVS exited normally with code 0*****

RE: New CVS repository
Posted by Lee Goddard <ho...@leegoddard.com>.
Excuse me if this is my silliness, but I'm following the
instructions on the URL you give below, and at
9. When asked for the password: anwer "anoncvs" (without quotes);
I get the response:
cvs login
(Logging in to pserver:anoncvs@xml.apache.org)
no such user pserver:anoncvs in CVSROOT/passwd
cvs login: authorization failed: server xml.apache.org rejected access to
/home/cvspublic for user pserver:anoncvs
*****CVS exited normally with code 1*****
Something's wrong?
