Apache Atlas 0.8.2 release

Atlas community,

 

About 100 fixes/improvements have gone into branch-0.8 since Apache Atlas 0.8.1 was released in last August. I propose we do 0.8.2 release from branch-0.8 soon.

 

Here are few notable features, improvements:

  - ATLAS-2296: Basic search enhancement to optionally exclude sub-type entities and sub-classification-types

  - ATLAS-2267: Update basic search to return classification attributes

  - ATLAS-2100: support for saving searches

  - ATLAS-2295: UI - updates for classification rendering – tree/flat view

  - ATLAS-1964: UI - support to reorder columns in search results page

  - ATLAS-2071: UI – minification of js, css

  - ATLAS-2075: support hook messages of large size

  - ATLAS-2085: fix type initialization issues in HA deployment

  - ATLAS-2310: In HA, the passive node redirects the request with wrong URL encoding

  - ATLAS-2089: upgraded Jetty version

  - ATLAS-2250: Upgrade JQuery version to 3.*

  - ATLAS-2090: UI – cache busting for static content (css, js)

  - ATLAS-2179: Split Atlas client library to avoid unnecessary dependencies

  - ATLAS-2280: Recovering lost/bad index data

Marc,

 

1.0.0-alpha release is from master branch – this is a major release with features/changes like Relationship as a first-class type, support for JanusGraph, removal of old type system library, etc

0.8.2 release will be from branch-0.8 branch – this is a maintenance release containing fixes and improvements

Thanks Madhan for heads up on 0.8.2 release, the improvements in form of
bug fixes and optimization will provide more stability for Atlas.
