[jira] [Created] (NIFI-15188) ConsumeKafka - Erroneous Payload not skipped when using 'Wrapper' output strategy

Jordan Sammut created NIFI-15188:
------------------------------------

Summary: ConsumeKafka - Erroneous Payload not skipped when using 'Wrapper' output strategy
                 Key: NIFI-15188
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/NIFI-15188
             Project: Apache NiFi
          Issue Type: Bug
    Affects Versions: 2.4.0
            Reporter: Jordan Sammut
         Attachments: image-2025-11-06-15-36-04-688.png

We have noticed that when utilizing the 'Wrapper' strategy from a ConsumeKafka, should a payload come in which fails to be parsed, the consumer halts and does not route the erroneous payload to the failure relationship. Upon switching the output strategy to 'Use Content as Value', the consumer successfully skips the record and continues as normal. This should be the expected behaviour with the 'Wrapper' strategy too
