Has anyone used the 2 parameter versionControlMethod (webdav) ?

I'm trying to figure out what the 2 parameter version requires.

I tend to use the one 'versionControlMethod( String path ).

What is the 'target' in the other one ?

ie, versionControlMethod( String path, String target )' ?
