I have checked the files inside the temp folder with Unlocker.exe.
They are all unlocked except "apache-flex-sdk-4.11.0-bin.zip" (locked by ApacheFlexInstaller), so maybe that's why the directory cannot be deleted.

Installation of SDK with Installer 2.7 RC2 went good.
Because the downloads were already there, installation took only a few minutes!
Some remarks:
- I am still having the error "Cannot delete temp directories" although the installation went well, and the temp/ directory is still there at the end of the installation. (the folder was not opened in Windows Explorer, and anti-virus turned off).
- Is there a reason for "required" options not being selected by default ?
- On a fresh installation (nothing in the cache), the installer will take up to 1.4 GB of memory . I think this is because it needs to load the huge zip files in memory to check the MD5, but it's good to know if you have a small configuration.

We have the option of carrying over the votes from one RC to another. Of course, folks can flip their votes or chose not to vote if they dont think it is required (like your case where you test the source kits)

Re: [DISCUSS] Apache Flex SDK Installer 2.7 Release - RC2
Posted by OmPrakash Muppirala <bi...@gmail.com>.
It looks like the mirrors for the Flex 4.11 binaries have been propagated.
I have switched the Installer 2.7 to point to the released version of
4.11. If folks who haven't voted yet can test it, that would be great.
Thanks,

Hi,
There's nothing stopping us from releasing 2.7 as it, waiting for any feedback, and then voting on and releasing a 2.7.1 with that fix (and possibly others) in a few weeks. Not all releases need to have major changes. Remember anyone can make a release candidate and it only needs 3 +1 votes.
Thanks,
Justin

Agreed. My only concern is that if we include this fix in this release, we
need a new 72 hour voting period - which would delay our announcement of
Flex 4.11.0.
My vote is for a minor release a few days after we announce the release,
etc.

It's difficult to say.
The impact are not very visible:
- an false error in the log (that is not opened by default)
- temp directory not deleted (that does not harm, and people can delete it manually).

Great catch! Thanks for investigating this. Any chance you could check in
the fix as well? ;-)
Is this serious enough to warrant a new RC for the Installer?

Om, it's not on and off. It's always.
I can save you some debugging time, as I compiled and debugged the installer source.
The error is in MD5CompareUtil.
Function compareSignature calls openAsync() on the SDK zip, but NEVER closes it when the comparison is done.
I have checked that when returning from MD5 comparison, the file could not be deleted in the Explorer.

Maurice, I have seen this issue on and off and have not been able to reproduce this consistently on my machine. It might be that there is a reference to the file held on to while unzipping it or doing an MD5 checksum verification.
If you can please file a JIRA ticket for it, I can take a look at it when I have time.

Om

Maurice, I have seen this issue on and off and have not been able to
reproduce this consistently on my machine. It might be that there is a
reference to the file held on to while unzipping it or doing an MD5
checksum verification.
If you can please file a JIRA ticket for it, I can take a look at it when I
have time.
