    I don't see a strong reason to force Commons Lang 2.6 for build profiles where nothing uses 2.6. Other than that yes it is the same as the change I am currently testing.

    Looks correct to me. The dependency graph looks good, spark-shell works with or without Hive, and commons-lang is in the assembly with this change.

    Tested this before and after, with and without hive. I am able to confirm that reverting the exclusion of common-langs for the hive case in this PR fixes the issue. This should be ready for merge.

    I test this manually by running `./make-distribution.sh --with-hive --tgz` followed by `bin/spark-shell`, as instructed in the JIRA to reproduce this error. I did not get any error. So this is probably good for merging. 
    @mateiz What do you think?
