Count of rows updated or deleted?

Is this feature still missing?  I've found a couple mailing list
archives that ask the same thing, but I have not found a response, nor
have I found a flavor of an API that returns the number of affected rows
from an update or a delete.

Is this possible?  Is this slated for any time in the future?  Or is
this a TorqueWontImplement?

This is a feature which is still missing. It should not be difficult to
implement, but at the torque developers plan to exchange the underlying
village library it would be double work to implement that now.
