Here is an overview of the issue:
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Key: XERCESJ-961
Summary: Incorrect Handling of Unrepresentable Characters in CDATA Sections
Type: Bug
Status: Closed
Priority: Major
Resolution: FIXED
Project: Xerces2-J
Components:
DOM
Versions:
2.6.2
Assignee: Michael Glavassevich
Reporter: Jonathan Au
Created: Thu, 13 May 2004 1:56 PM
Updated: Sat, 15 May 2004 1:07 PM
Description:
When 'split-cdata-sections' is false, unrepresentable characters in a CDATAsection should be "reported as "wf-invalid-character" errors if the parameter "well-formed" is set to true. The error is not recoverable. Appears that we call modifyDOMError but then split the cdata sections and continue with serialization.
