[jira] [Created] (HADOOP-9685) hadoop-config.cmd: builds a
classpath that is too long on windows
Raja Aluri created HADOOP-9685:
----------------------------------
Summary: hadoop-config.cmd: builds a classpath that is too long on windows
Key: HADOOP-9685
URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/HADOOP-9685
Project: Hadoop Common
Issue Type: Bug
Components: bin
Affects Versions: 1-win
Reporter: Raja Aluri
Assignee: Raja Aluri
Fix For: 1-win
hadoop-config.cmd, sets the class path by listing each jar file to the CLASAPATH. Many times the downstream components use hadoop_config.cmd to set the CLASAPATH for hadoop jars. After adding their own class path, many times the classpath length is hitting the windows command lenght limit.
We should try to use classpath wildcards to reduce the length of the classpath.
