Doing what you suggest leads to the possibility that an "empty" errors object 
being stored in the request - this may cause problems for anyone relying on the 
fact that there is an errors object present only when there are actually errors.

The benefit from making the change you suggest is to save one line of code in 
the Action (i.e. a call to the saveErrors() method) which doesn't seem worth it 
to me.

Closing this as WONTFIX.
