anyone successfully compiled/ run 2.0.39 AIX 5.1?

hi all,

has anyone successfully compiled & run 2.0.39 on aix 5.1? i'm able to 
compile & link, with most of the modules linking dynamically, but httpd 
regularly dumps core in apr_hook.c.

i'm using the IBM compiler xlc_r, and have tried cc, but get the same 
core dump with either compiler.
