Next Perl release

Hey,

There has been some discussion of when The next version of Xerces-C
and Xerces-J will be released, but there seems to be no discussion of
Xerces-P going on.

Who is in charge of the perl development, and how can we assist?

The version in the CVS tree is identical to the released verion of Dec
'99. Has no work gone on since then?

Thanks,
jas.

Fred,

Linux work is certainly appreciated. We have someone who has already
committed to providing a Linux patch (Jason Stewart). You can send me
your patch and I'll check it out. I would prefer to serialize this
after the patch I am expecting from Jason (provided it happens soon).
Please also explain what you mean be modifications to SWIG. I'd like to
avoid forking SWIG in xml.apache.

Tom

We have been working on Xerces-P as well (on Linux).
One of us (hnine@netarx.com) is investigating some modifications to
SWIG.
What do we need to do to incorporate these changes/additions.
Do you want a patch file?

Fred

Jason,

I know we have had a side discussion regarding your contribution of
patch to put Xerces Perl on Linux (thanks much!). Also, I will test and
release an update to Xerces Perl to ensure compatibility with Xerces C
when the next version is posted, hopefully later this week. If you get
me your patch by then, I will test them together.
