Karaf-Cookbook-Ch-7-Modifying-to-Use-a-Remote-Data-Source-
Hi,
I tried to post to the User group as the question is relevant to that group
rather than developer, but I received an error from the mailer-daemon saying
I wasn't subscribed to the User list (but I am on the Dev list). Apologies
for duplicating but for the details of my question, please see following
link to Dev group

Hi Achim,
Thanks for your reply.
As regards the mailing lists, I tried to first subscribe to the User mailing
list (via this website) but the web page came back stating I was already
subscribed. However when I post to the User forum, although the post is
accepted on the website it's rejected from the mailing list; I actually
received an email stating this. So I'm not sure if I'm doing something
wrong.
The persistence.xml file I used is taken from the source-code downloaded
from the Packt website and I just modified the 'ConnectionURL' property to
point to my remote Derby database. Could you elaborate on your answer about
not having a database configuration and datasource reference in the same
persistence.xml? I'm relatively new to JPA so please forgive the pretty
basic questions.
Regards
jtkb

OK, I worked it out. I commented out the <non-jta-data-source> tags and it
now uses my remote source.

Hi,
regarding the mailinglists, you need to be registered to the mailinglist
using the same email addresses to post from nabbles to be accepted to the
mailinglist.
second, you can't have the properties for a db configuration and a
datasource reference in the same persistence.xml
regards, Achim
