Both maven-war-plugin and maven-ear-plugin support the specification of a classifier for the generated artifacts. The maven-ear-plugin even supports specifying a classifier for component ejb-jars.
However this feature is missing from the maven-ejb-plugin.
The attached patch adds this feature.
I've found the classifier to be an essential element when creating builds targeted at different deployment environments.

Note that the unit tests have been revised so that each one creates a unique jar, otherwise the results of previous tests can create false positives
