[jira] [Created] (NETBEANS-5713) Netbeans 12.3 on macOS Big Sur: proxy settings are ignored

Thomas Corte created NETBEANS-5713:
--------------------------------------

             Summary: Netbeans 12.3 on macOS Big Sur: proxy settings are ignored
                 Key: NETBEANS-5713
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/NETBEANS-5713
             Project: NetBeans
          Issue Type: Bug
          Components: platform - Proxy
    Affects Versions: 12.2, 12.3
         Environment: * macOS 11 (Big Sur)
* Oracle JDK 8 and OpenJDK 8, 11 and 16

            Reporter: Thomas Corte
         Attachments: test-connection-bug.png

With Netbeans 12.3 on macOS Big Sur, the *proxy settings* are seemingly ignored. When trying to e.g. download plugins with a proxy in place, the connection times out.

This works fine in macOS 10.15 (Catalina); however, even on Catalina, the "test connection" button with a proxy in place shows a weird behaviour, a red stop sign and the message "Connection failed (null)", see attached screenshot. But despite this message, the proxy actually works on Catalina, but not on Big Sur.

I've tried this with Oracle JDK 8 and OpenJDK 8, 11 and 16, same result.
