Also, the installation notes at http://java.sun.com/webservices/downloads/install-unix.html may give you some information. I note that installation on UNIX platforms other than Solaris and Linux are unsupported.

No. Apache SOAP does not support the Java Web Services APIs that are coming from the JCP. However, Apache Axis does support some of these, so I recommend you check it out (http://ws.apache.org/axis).
