[jira] [Commented] (OPENJPA-2847) CriteriaUpdate/CriteriaDelete are not implemented

    [ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/OPENJPA-2847?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=17256369#comment-17256369 ]

Romain Manni-Bucau commented on OPENJPA-2847:
---------------------------------------------

Hi [~pveselov], can be a working point but "targetting" was used instead of "supports" because some parts are not implemented. This criteria builder part looks not that complicated because it is mainly the same as the select part and most impl already exists. Do you want to give a try to implement it?

> I was rather excited when I saw the statement on
> http://openjpa.apache.org/ that 3.x releases "target" the 2.2 JPA
> Spec, but are *compatible* with specs 2.1 and below specs, sort of
> reading it as 3.x supporting 2.2 spec.
> My excitement was crushed with a rather heavy boulder once I saw that
> the criteria builder simply throws an unsupported operation exception
> in methods to create criteria update/delete objects.
> I'm filing this as a bug because of this wording, IMHO, if that is just a missing feature, implementing 2.2 spec can't be claimed.
